GB News | Rescue Centre Crisis

In this interview with GB News host Neil Oliver and I discussed the growing crisis facing rescue centres across the UK, with shelters struggling as more dogs are surrendered amid rising living costs. We explored the behavioural, financial, and social factors contributing to the issue, and emphasised the importance of early training, education, and responsible ownership to help keep dogs in their homes and out of already-stretched rescue environments.

BBC News |
The Depressing Side of Rescue.

In this BBC News radio interview, I spoke about the emotional and practical challenges facing rescue centre staff across the UK. While caring for and rehoming dogs should be one of the most rewarding roles, the reality is that shelters are overwhelmed, with more dogs arriving than spaces available. I discussed how the constant need to turn dogs away — many of whom simply have nowhere else to go — has made the work emotionally difficult, and highlighted the urgent need for support, responsible ownership, and preventative education.

JOE.IE |
Keeping
Dogs
Cool in
Summer

In this interview with Joe.ie, I discussed the growing impact of increasingly hot summers on dogs and the risks associated with heat stress and heat stroke. We covered practical steps owners can take to keep their dogs safe and comfortable in warm weather — including appropriate exercise timing, hydration, shade, and cooling strategies — as well as how to recognise early signs of heat-related illness before it becomes serious.

GB News | Christmas
Heros

In this GB News interview with Patrick Christys as part of their Christmas Heroes feature, I spoke about the commitment required to run a rescue centre over the holiday period. Even at Christmas, days start at 5am to ensure the dogs receive the care, enrichment, and support they need before staff arrive. We discussed the dedication involved in making sure every dog in our care has a safe, enjoyable festive season, and the realities of rescue work behind the scenes during one of the busiest and most emotional times of the year.

Battersea |
24 In Battersea

In this feature on Battersea Cats & Dogs Home: 24 Hours, I was followed through a typical day working hands-on in the shelter. The segment highlighted the realities of daily rescue work — from behaviour assessments and tailored training plans to welfare checks, enrichment, and supporting dogs on their journey to finding new homes. It offered an inside look at the level of care, professionalism, and behavioural understanding required to rehabilitate and responsibly rehome dogs in a busy rescue environment.

Paul O'Grady |
For the love
Of Dogs.

In this brief clip from Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs, I appear alongside the late Paul O’Grady during my work at Battersea, supporting dogs in care and helping prepare them for rehoming. The show offers a heartfelt look at the day-to-day realities of rescue and rehabilitation. Additional appearances can be viewed on ITV’s player.
